With the advent of social networking, you now have the ability to reach more people than ever before. How active are you with sites like Facebook and Twitter?
I’m constantly on Twitter, but not so much Facebook. I used to be addicted to MySpace but now it’s overwhelming. I still check it, but I’m not obsessed like I once was. With Twitter, it’s on my phone and I’m on it day and night!

Do you feel Twitter has allowed you to break down the so-called “4th wall” between you and your fans by sharing more personal info about the real you?
In some ways. I’m more into back and forth with friends than fans. Sure there are a lot of fans on Twitter, but I am usually doing business or keeping up with friends.

I didn’t have a choice. I didn’t make any money at it at first, so I couldn’t pay anyone. I learned by mistake and trying things over and over. I still have plenty to learn. Plus, I think if I do it my true personality is reflected more than if I hired someone.

I have over 20,000 photos and I do live interactive shows with streaming video and audio free for my members several times a week. On my site you get to know the real me, not the scripted Mariah in my movies.

What are the next steps for you in terms of building the Mariah Milano brand?
I’m going exclusive to my own projects as of 2010, but will still shoot for magazines. Video though will be seen in only one place. I also have my own production company and I just reached a distribution deal for DVD’s and Blue Ray that is awesome and have my first production starting in November. I’m very excited about that!
