Tell us how you got your start in fetish/alt/goth modeling.

Parts of the beginning are really foggy because it started out as me and my ex, both unemployed and drinking a lot, and filling time between drinking these disgusting 48oz cups of shitty vodka mixed with the cheapest orange juice at the Sav-n-Go, to take pictures of each other or whatever it was we did. Like I said, the beginning is foggy. I remember he got into cam-whoring because his ex was doing it and I was there, drunk, holding pineapples or stuffed animals and posting photos on his live journal. I was in a bad place, my health was horrible, severely depressed and finding every possible distraction, bordering on academic probation, lost my grant money so wasn’t even considering going back to school. There are exceptions to every rule, not forgetting that clientele demand is different when it comes to Soft vs. Hardcore model/websites.

You were born in the Soviet Union and moved to the States as a young child. Did you find the transition to our Western ways strange and jarring?

I moved to the US at such a young age, even before I had a chance to go to school, that there really was no transition for me to go through. Quite the opposite, when I came back to visit Russia (the Soviet Union had already been dismantled), their Eastern ways were odd to me. I was still brought up with Russian traditions. I am just well accustomed to our Western ways here.

Around the age of 13, I discovered fetish accidentally through a search I did online. I ran across images done by Bob Carlos Clarke, Helmut Newton, Steve Diet Goedde, Lithium Picnic, Michael Helms, and others. I even discovered illustrations done by John Willie. How did you put the idea motion?

I created my logo, created 9 designs, set up the website, and had no fucking idea what I was doing. We launched the line at MAGIC in August 06’ and received lots of love from the smaller boutiques.
